Years before this comic became infamous:

Shadowrun for Genesis was pretty bad. It was oh so immersive and neat, but you had to literally work like a dog to build up your decker/samurai. That might have worked when we were 13 years old some 20~ years ago...but not when we’re now 30 plus.

So, without further ado, here are the cheats for Shadowrun to say ‘to hell with this” to that learning curve.

“Official” built-in Game Cheat Code

At the title screen enter A, B, B, A, C, A, B, START.

During gameplay open your Pocket Secretary. Move the cursor down to the blank beneath "Save/Load Game". Choose this space and you'll see a cheat screen.

NOTE: This cheat menu is only accessible once per play. Once you leave it you can't select the blank space again. To use it more than once save, reset, enter the code again, load, and then access the menu once more.

You can use these in an emulator like KEGA Fusion, or on physical hardware. All these codes were developed by Mr. Hedstrom using an emulator to find memory areas and generate codes for them.

Mr Hedstrom’s Notes
If you are using these codes with a real Game Genie (on a real Genesis), you will probably not be able to save your game (this is because of the Game Genie,not because of the codes), but if you are playing on an emulator, you should have no problems saving your game. You can use all of the stat codes at the same time if you want, but it may make the Atk and Def meters look funny (because your stats will be so high).

IMPORTANT GAME BUG FIXES

AVRT-LA26

Fixes the melee instant death bug. When Wired Reflexes are equipped and you fight bare handed, you can be killed with one punch from an enemy. This code fixes that glitch. Has been tested through the entire game.

OVERALL GAME CHEATS

ADBT-AA2T

Cheat/debugger menu is always available. Just pause the game, press "A" to enter your Pocket Secretary, then scroll down to the empty spot at the bottom (below "Save/Load Game") and press "A". Lots of cool stuff: Money, Spells, Heal all, Karma, Contacts, Walk faster, Debugging, etc.

AMTT-CA8L

No random enemies/battles.

ADTT-CA8L

Many more random enemies or encounters.

AKPA-LA6Y

1 hit kills enemies (overhead view). Works with weapons and magic.

AL7T-AA48

Walk through walls. If you have trouble entering a building, just move around in the doorway and you'll get in.

AL4T-AA8W

Walk faster. Also, you won't slow down when enemies target you.

BMDT-AADW

When you "die" and are taken to the hospital, your mental health will be 100% instead of 80% when they release you (only for character in top slot).

BMDT-AAC8

When you "die" and are taken to the hospital, your physical health will be 100% instead of 60% when they release you (only for character in top slot).

RHLA-A6V2

No Karma is subtracted when upgrading attributes and skills. You still have to have the required amount of Karma though.

AXKT-AA96

Infinite Karma when upgrading attributes and skills. Even if you have zero Karma, you can still upgrade.

AK3T-LA5G

No Essence subtracted when buying Cyberware.

AJ6A-AA3G

Infinite mental health (protection from some attacks). Has only been tested on the character in the first (top) slot.

AJ5A-AA7R

Infinite physical health (protection from some attacks). Has only been tested on the character in the top slot.

Infinite pistol ammo (has only been tested on the character in the top slot). It *may* work on other weapons besides pistols.
