The 9000 Z001 is an enclosed repulsorlift landspeeder originally designed to appeal to the Ugor species, due to the vehicle's shape and view ports on all sides and its unique boarding system. To board the 9000, the craft would elevate itself to allow the Ugors to flow under and into the craft, which sealed after boarding. However, this craft did not attract very many buyers. Undaunted, Ubrikkian Transports modified the original design and released the 9000 Z001.
The modified design still
uses the same boarding concept as the original. However, the chassis elevates
itself from the base of the craft to allow the occupants to simply walk
under it and allow it to lower itself around them. It seats situated around
a central shaft, which causes a yet unresolved problem of motion sickness.
The 9000 Z001 possesses incredible maneuverability for a landspeeder due
to its micro-thrusters placed around its spherical body. Ubrikkian Transports
uses the maneuverability of this vehicle as an excuse when complaints arise
due to the speed of this craft. At any given rate however, the 9000 Z001
is currently one of the most popular landspeeders on the market.
