The A-1 Deluxe Floater is a craft that lacks many luxuries that are standard on most other speeders. The A-1 lacks autopilot, entertainment systems, navigation beacon sensor and onboard computers. As it is referred to, the Deluxe was intended to be a craft that anyone could afford and thus the company's marketing efforts emphasized that. The reliable A-1's design was kept down to the basics. Despite its inexpensive price tag, the A-1 still maintains a high resale price. The A-1 Deluxe is one of the most popular landspeeders currently on the market.
The occupants of the craft
sit behind each other. It is possible for the occupants of the A-1 to burn
themselves on the exhaust outlets (which are almost completely outside
the main body of the craft) while they are debarking the vehicle. The forward
inlet ports acknowledges the A-1's forced-air-cooled design, however, the
system is well known for allowing outside smells from filtering into the
canopy. Nonetheless, the body of the A-1 often falls apart before the engine
does. However, there is another version of the A-1 Deluxe Floater which
features automated steering and fine Corellian leather, and is considered
a luxury air speeder.
