The AT-AT Barge is capable of ferrying down massive vehicles from an Imperial Star Destroyer's launch bay to the targeted planet's surface below. This craft was in Imperial service some time before the Battle of Yavin. The three engine Barge does nothing more than land on the battlefield, deploy its carried vehicles via floor hatches, and quickly return to the orbiting Imperial Star Destroyer. Although similar to its much larger cousin the Y-85 Titan Dropship, the Y-85 unlike AT-AT Barge cannot fit inside the hanger bays of an Imperial-class Star Destroyer. Due to the AT-AT Barge's size, AT-ATs cannot be deployed in battle-ready configuration, they must be transported with their legs folded. Once deployed, the AT-ATs can then fully extend their legs and enter battle.
