The Bayonet-class Light Cruiser was in service some time before the Battle of Yavin and was considered nearly obsolete. However, it continued service in the backwaters of the Empire. Such a ship was assigned to the Elrood Sector. Another ship, the Nastion assigned to a very minor sector called the Trans-Nebular Sector was employed by Moff Nebin Cray to scout out the planet of Goroth Prime, which turned out to contain a motherload of hyperbarides (an incredibly valuable strategic material).
