The Corellian Corvette is
used as a troop transport, light escort, cargo or passenger carrier by
the Imperial Navy. A nick name for this vessel is the Blockade Runner.
The Corvette has four escape pods per side, they are located under the
the turbolaser turrets on the sides of the vessel. These eleven engine
vessels were favoured by many members in the Imperial Senate before it
was disbanded by the order of the Emperor. They used the corvettes as diplomatic
couriers. Most of the corvettes owned by the members of the Imperial Senate
have been sold off to private companies. This vessel is one of the most
versatile craft in the galaxy. Also this is a multi-purpose craft, unlike
most vessels that tend to be more specialized ships. Due to the mounting
of the corvette's weapons, there exists a narrow blind spot along both
sides and the rear of this vessel, making the corvette vulnerable to attack
from these areas. Unfortunately, throughout the Galactic Civil War the
Rebels managed to destroy a large number of Imperial CR90 Corellian Corvettes.
