The Combat Aquaspeeder was an incredibly successful effort that modified the widely popular T-47 Airspeeder into an aquatic combat craft. This modified vehicle entered Imperial service at least one year before the Battle of Hoth. A military variant of the T-47, which is widely employed in military activities had the forward gun emplacements replaced with a dorsally-mounted turret. Additionally, the harpoon and cable system which is prevalent in modified T-47s was retained. It was often employed for wreckage recovery. A tougher two-pilot cockpit was also installed. And extra shield plates were attached along the wings to streamline the vehicle's body, which proved to be the greatest alteration made to the T-47 design. |
