The Orbital Space Dock III consists of two large drydocks which are joined into one unit for ships over 300 metres in length, and has been in Imperial service since at least a few weeks after the Battle of Yavin. It also features numerous freighter hangers, spacebarge hangers and living quarters for dock personnel. This spacedock provides facilities for repairing and overhauling capital ships up to 600 metres in length, with additional bays for smaller vessels. Ordinarily, long term overhauls and repairs ranging from one to six months are conducted in Dock 1. While Dock 2 is reserved for shorter repair needs. Due to changing priorities, maintenance scheduling and the unexpected arrival of damaged vessels, the dock often adjusts its normal procedures. This type of spacedock was constructed by the Imperial Navy and was placed in a geostationary orbit around the planet of Bacrana in the Bacrana System, in the Brak Sector.
