    The Type II Orbiting Repair Yard is a modular, open architecture, reconfigurable and hyperspace capable. Most Type II Orbiting Repair Yards are configured to a cubical arrangement. These shipyards are employed by the Imperial Navy; in accordance with the Imperial Order of Battle to supplement deepdock shipyards or to supplant them. These great shipyards are heavily armoured and shielded, however they are nearly unarmed. To offset this, the Type II in theory is protected by at least a full escort force and a Stormtrooper company. The Type II is capable of repairing and also constructing everything from light cruisers to Imperial Star Destroyers. Contracting for the construction of these vessels are usually done by local contractors under corporate supervision. These contractors often employed alien forced labour and droid assembly. The Black Sword Command, the regional command for Farlax and Hatawa Sectors almost exclusively employed this type of shipyard.
