It is designed to act as either as a high-tech contact vessel or as a powerful assault vessel. In both roles, this craft is equally adept. The Empire employed this craft to seek out new worlds and if necessary deliver a devastating strike to them. Powerful and computer controlled weapons enables this craft to inflict maximum destruction with minimal effort. This design was equipped with some of the most powerful sensor arrays built in its era. Its sensors are capable of counting the number of leaves on a particular tree from orbit. Sydon Vehicle Works introduced this craft at least six years before the Battle of Hoth. Other users of this craft include, private citizens, pirates and bounty hunters.

*After Endor* The New Republic considers this craft too provocative for encounters with frightened primitives, and thus these craft has seen less use in recent months due to changes in the New Republic. The Pacifiers are finding their way into used ship lots in droves and thus civilians could get their hands on these surplus craft. Eventually, the New Republic summarily discontinued use of this versatile craft.
