Note : Grenade depicted in EGWT and NEGWT seen in RASB but not described. Most likely the General Purpose Grenade mentioned in RASB is the C-22. AAEG incorrectly states timer deactivation is achieved by pressing down the top of the timer and entering in the proper code. AAEG gives a strange price of 700 Credits.

 

    The C-22 Fragmentation Grenade is more advanced, but similar to the C-16 grenade in that it is composed of a small detonite charge enclosed within a pre-stressed chrome shell. Damage inflicted by this weapon consists of both shrapnel and intense heat. It is a dual use weapon. It can either be used as a grenade or as a demolition charge, as the magnetic grapple at the base of the C-22 permits precise placement. Although, it must be noted that the magnetic grapple is too weak for the weapon to latch onto a structure or vehicle if thrown.

    Additionally, the timer, which can be set up for a maximum delay of two minutes allows the C-22 to be employed as a mine for ambushes. Twisting the timer dial sets the delay length. Arming the grenade is achieved by pressing the activation panel set on the C-22's flank just below the timer dial. Holding down the activation panel pauses the timer, and entering a code deactivates the primer (allowing the timer to be reset). While this weapon was introduced in the later years of the Old Republic, it found common use amongst Imperial Forces throughout the Galactic Civil War.
