The Model G8 Blaster Rifle is a common military blaster rifle that first saw service during the latter years of the Old Republic. It was a widely familiar sight in the frontier expanses, especially with local authorities in regions surrounding Hutt Space and the Tion Hegemony. While not as nearly ubiquitous as the E-11 Blaster Rifle, the G8 features superior range, but suffers from a more delicate housing. Eventually, large numbers of G8s were sold by these treacherous local authorities to the still forming Rebel Alliance. So large were the sales, that the weapon became one of the three blaster rifles typically used by the Rebellion. The Rebels favoured this weapon's range due to the advantages gained in ambushes against our Stormtroopers.
