The TIE Vanguard is a variant
of the TIE/rc, and it is often deployed first to collect detailed data
on enemy ship movements before a full fleet engagement. This successful
reconnaissance craft is equipped with limited shields to protect the valuable
data it gathers. To increase its sensor visibility, its wings have been
angled. Its design evolved from the TIE/rn and TIE Scout, both are variants
of the standard TIE Fighter modified for information gathering and spy
missions. The TIE Vanguard is one of the few TIE designs which features
deflector shields. |
