The CR90 Corellian Corvette
is generally used by private corporations, pirates and of course the Rebel
Alliance. These ships are also known as "Blockade Runners". These very
versatile corvettes can be used for blockade running, heavy combat duty
and a number of other functions. The Rebels use these ships as cargo vessels,
troop transports or for engaging Imperial Forces. The Corellian Corvette
was designed by and for Corellians. It was only pure coincidence that the
designers at CEC matched the needs of the Rebel Alliance for this vessel.
The most famous of these Corellian Corvettes is the Tantive IV,
which was used by Princess Leia to supply the Rebels with weapons, munitions
and information until her arrest by Lord Vader. The Rebels have modified
Corvettes to be similar in combat worthiness to our Imperial Corvettes,
however theirs are older and more beat up. Unfortunately when it comes
to these fine ships it proves almost impossible for Imperial Captains trying
to weed out the dogs when they are using them, since Corellian Corvettes
are one of the most common ships in the Galaxy.
