This weapon was in Imperial service at least a few weeks after the Battle of Yavin. This weapon can be founded onboard Nebulon-B Frigate armouries or in the hands of Radtroopers. The high power ratings of these weapons allow them to partially offset the malfunctions suffered by blasters when employed in high radiation zones (around grade four or higher).
